More Distractions: Stoneflies

Last week the mythically-hyped stoneflies were hatching on the Henry's Fork. Darren and I talked all week about fishing on Saturday. At the last minute my brother came home and as my brother is not often home, I apologized to Darren and canceled on him. He said he understood about when family is in town, however, I wonder . . .

My brother and I ended up floating with a friend of his on the lower section of river. We had ok success as seen by the photograph below. However, that night I got the report from Darren. He described it "as the best day of fishing I have ever had . . . " Many very large fish were reported to have been caught.

At some point I started to wonder, does this sound too good to be true? Maybe Darren was upset that I didn't go with him and was telling a fish story. The next day, I went up to where Darren had had amazing success the day before only to find his buddy that is a fishing guide beat me to the spot. He took his clients up river in the morning and then I tried it again in the early afternoon. Neither of us caught anything. The story is starting to sound even more fishy, eh? Hey Darren, where are your fish photos. Don't they say real photographers never leave home without their cameras?

I guess I learned my lesson, don't cancel on Darren. I will let Darren write up his fishing report so I will not share it with you here. Quite unbelievable, I am very jealous.
