Hello friends,

Had a great day skiing today. Gorgeous weather and perfect snow, unbelieveable for the first of december.

Here is the mountain report from Targhee's website.

New natural snow at Mid-Mountain in the last 24 hrs: 17 inches
New natural snow at Mid-Mountain in the last 3 days: 37 inches

Even with that much snow it is surprising how fast it gets tracked out. I guess now with more people skiing off trail (I attribute that to better equipment - namely shape skis) and Targhee's high speed quad . . .

Anyways, it was a really great day. Had a handful of faceshots and plenty of knee to mid-thigh turns. Had to search for and visit some reserves that not a lot of people know about, places where you can pick up 5-10 untracked turns when the rest of the mountain is pretty tracked out (the kind you get to know are there after you ski on a mountain for 22 years - I know about most of them from following my brothers around and Randy, and a family friend).

Anyway, I don't have any pictures as I still can't decide on a camera to purchase.

I hope everybody else had a great weekend.

I guess I will post some photos even though they are kind of old. They are from March 31, 2004

As you can see, this day we chose to go skiing was not very busy at all - unlike today. This photo caught my eye as I looked through my collection. It was a quick snapshot I took for no real reason at the time.

I don't know why I like this second picture. It caught my eye also. I like the cloud. I like how there is this big round white thing in the middle of the photo.
